16th Century Italian Renaissance Walnut Armchair Upholstered in Red Chenille
This is an extremely rare 16th century Italian armchair from the late Italian Renaissance period. Made of Circassian walnut with a deep patination and rich deep color. Decorative posts with carved acanthus leaves retaining the original gilding over broad molded arms above turned uprights and finely carved lion’s paw feet. Newly reupholstered in pale cherry red chenille and large brass nailheads.
